Detection of Nonlinearity
Classical pharmacokinetics, as discussed thus far, implies
that with increased dose size, the peak height and amount of drug
transferred to tissue will be directly proportional to the dose.
However, it is evident that there are many deviations from linear
pharmacokinetics with respect to one or more of the processes of
absorption, distribution, binding to biological material in tissue,
plasma protein binding, metabolism, and elimination of a drug.
