Secondary Hypertension, Renal Artery Stenosis 

MB is a 5'8", 57-year-old, 68-kg man. Previous medical history includes hypercholesterolemia and a family history of atherosclerosis. MB smokes one pack of cigarettes per day. Physical examination revealed a BP of 185/110 mmHg. Plasma renin was found to be increased and the results from subsequent angiographic studies led to a diagnosis of marked stenosis of the left renal artery.
