Angiography is a type of x-ray performed to image blood vessels in various regions of the body, including the heart, brain, and kidneys. This test enables the physician to observe whether vessels are diseased, enlarged, narrowed, or occluded altogether. The most common reason to perform angiography is to determine if there is a narrowing or occlusion in a blood vessel that would impair blood flow to a tissue. For example, coronary angiography detects obstruction of coronary arteries which can lead to a myocardial
